Bathtub-Tee Strainers
(Series BT)
| | BT strainers offer pressure losses lower than those of the PC and PB strainers. "BT" is derived from the "bathtub" shape of the straining element. Cleaning of BT strainers is easily accomplished without disturbing adjacent piping. These strainers are used in vertical and horizontal piping and can be modified for right angle flow application. BT style strainers are cost effective, due to the speed and ease of basket removal, where regular cleanout is expected or downtime is costly. BT strainers are often used for startup with multiple baskets, varying from coarse to fine retention used successively. |
